Block V represents the first phase of a large - scale mixed-use residential development consisting of seven urban blocks in one of Belgrade’s most complex hillside locations. Due to the steep and demanding terrain, with elevation differences ranging from 1 to 7 meters, all residential buildings are positioned above a continuous underground garage structure. This condition transformed the entire outdoor area into a fully functional intensive green roof system, creating over 1,200 m² of private, lush, and carefully designed outdoor space exclusively for residents.
The landscape concept is inspired by the contemporary Mediterranean lifestyle, interpreted through a local design language and adapted to Belgrade’s climate, soil conditions, and urban context. My primary goal was to create a seamless connection between architecture and landscape, where outdoor spaces function as a natural extension of the living environment. Modern canopy further enhances the surrounding landscape by mirroring the surrounding landscape.
I have developed this project through close interdisciplinary collaboration with CAB Architects and Energogroup Engineering, ensuring full integration of architectural, structural, and landscape systems. As a principal author of the complete landscape and outdoor design I am happy that this intensive green roof was not treated as a secondary decorative layer, but as a fully integrated, functional, and spatially dominant component of the overall architectural composition.
